TRIP TO SODUS POINT NEW YORK, JULY 15-18, 2010
SCROLL DOWN FOR LOTS OF PICTURES
8 members of The Marlboro Fish & Game traveled up to northern New York state on Thursday July 15, 2010 to fish Lake Ontario. We all stayed right on the point at the Sodus Point Lodge. Really nice folks run the place & did their best to make us welcome. Free breakfast every morning starting at 3:30 AM & sandwiches made to order to take on the boat each day. We only had to cross the street & walk a couple hundred yards to the dock to get on the boats. We chartered 2 boats for the trip. Captain Sean Morris', " No Promises" & Captain Ken Devey's, " Stingray". You can check out the lodge's & the boat's web sites by clicking on the links. Friday started out a little shaky as the sky was lit up with thunder & lightning. Fun watching lightning on a big lake as long as it's far away. The storm passed to the East & we had a good day of fishing. Saturday & Sunday the weather was great. Fishing was sporadic, but in the end we caught a bunch of fish. Quite a few Brown Trout & few Steelhead & King Salmon. Check out the pictures below. The best part was being able to park the trucks when we arrived & not moving them until we left. The point is pretty compact with lodging, marina & restaurants within walking distance. Not that parking was plentiful, so once you find a space you don't move. Hope you enjoy the pictures of our trip. We are planning another trip, so if you are interested see us at the club.
